GSS by Race Time. SGS in early am from GSS on Decs. 35.4mm rain on Friday, 7mm Sunday. CoC quote = "Inner of Straight has been dolled out 15yds at 6f and 6yds at the Winning Line (A 3yd inner strip of fresh ground has been provided by this)". Who knows what the text in brackets mean - was it out wider at the last meeting? Stiff to Strong WSW Wind = Direct Tailwind to the Intersection, 3/4 Tailwind in the HS. === Pre Race === Hannon in 215 saying he liked Fast And Hot a lot and positive overall. Says he has shown them "..more than any of the other Fastnet Rocks they have had". Which could mean anything (i.e. moderate as opposed to useless). Interesting to note the Hannon method is to get 2yos running as early as possible and prefer what the eye tells them rather than worrying about pedigrees. The general 'book' on FRocks is that they are less precocious than European trainers expected. Breeze Video for Kenstone shwoing a medium one with some length. Solid build front, lighter behind and middling power. Starts his breeze in centre track but still jinks right away fromt he timing equipment at the start. Looks a bit disorganised with head to right and overtrying for 1f. Tires later on. But, uses his range well and seems to be moving quite quickly despite the inefficiencies. Not a powerhouse but movement looks promising if he can improve it and be more professional. Breeze Video fro Mamillius starts at the 2f pole with the long shot. Looks like the slightly taller, upright front of the sire. Ok size and build with some length. Not narrow like some. But, has a medium cadence and most and looks more a galloper. Not the 5-6f precocious fast mover type of the sire. Straight mover and certainly 70+ usable but better 7f? === Post Race === Slower time & a messy race. One of those, suspect, 'What happened there?' events. Shakerattlenroll not looking 70+ LTO and any better here in PRev? Only one to run competently and near the rail. With Fast And Hot too green to run a proper race and leaving a soft race to win, it appears. Fastnet Prince confirming the promise of his relative size in first 2 runs but appearing not to stay after getting to the lead. |
