G in early am from GS on decs. 2mm Rain Thu. Medium to Stiff SW Wind = 3/4 Headwind. === Pre Race === Breeze Video for Taurean Star showing a shorter type of the sire but with lengthy body. Just above medium build. Wanders around a bit in the first 1f of the breeze but better in the 2nd when allowed to use his full range and roll along. Finishes the breeze off well and looking positive. Latest Work Video very interesting and making Taurean Star look good, relative to what he was racing. Working in a trio with Strathearn (2nd over 7.4f FFOS STO) & the unraced Duck A L'Orange. Looks a more serious & pacy Work. Trio in a group until they hit the bottom of the hill then up the pace as the uphill starts. Strathearn the smallest of the 3 and always working hardest and dropped in the last 1f. Spencer in the centre on a bigger looking chestnut Duck A L'Orange. Spencer has to work on DAL while rider on Taurean Star never seems to stop having to hold him back. Looks good. Way Ahead another later 7f start for a 2yo describes in 215 by the trainer as "small & speedy, should start in May". Also noting he has temperament issues. Trainer Stevens a poor 2nd year as the salaried trainer at Sheikh Fahad's owned stables. Has only run 1 x 2yo so far and few listed in 215. Has Stevens been demoted or has the Sheikh just decided to spread his horses around other trainers? Stevens saying Kemsing "should have the speed for 5f at lower level, try to get him out before RASCT". === Post Race === Slow Time and presume a Slow Pace. Check what Spencer did on Taurean Star. Note he rode that one rather than Canny Style who he usually rides and CS at 12/1 despite, apparently or over-inflatedly, being a BHA stamped OR77 filly. How had the Market finally adjusted it's view of CS? |
