SGS from GF on Decs. === Post Race === Review Notes contributed by @hughonthehill (Twitter handle) ===== ==== Note :- The ratings number at the end of each review summary is an estimate of what OR they might reach rather than a reflection of how they ran on the day. See the Paddock Review Rating Section on this website for reference. Golden Slam review – A poor race in a slow time with a lot of below average competitors. Golden Slam nothing special and got home by pilot skill and draw bias. Golden Slam – top end of small and looked better here in terms of make-up than at Leicester. 66 Haulani – A hint bigger than Golden Slam and maybe a bit stronger but not quite the race craft on debut. 68 Sixties Habana – Clearly the fittest and readiest of the lot in paddock review but also the smallest. Typical tough little Sixties Icon type and did well from a bad draw. Halted in his run and had to stay wide. Should win small races 67-70 Bobby Vee – Top end of small, a bit undercooked on debut but ran on well albeit of a slow pace. 66 Met By Moonlight – Just shading into medium 64 Moneyoryourlife – Biggest of the lot, probably mid to higher medium. A bit raw and plain looking. Hard to put a finger on why he lacks much appeal from a decent sized frame. About 90% fit and calling a bit, exaggeratedly sleepy around the paddock and maybe he was sent to wake him up. If he can find some enthusiasm might get to 70 but could be slow. A Sure Welcome – Weak ordinary filly 55 Noble Attitude – A bit more substance than A Sure Welcome and had not had the benefit of a run. 58 Winning Bid – One of the marginally bigger ones with some low level potential if HD can get anything out of her. 60 Affordability – Neat small ready type, had had a placed run and showed a bit of early speed but size limited. Generous interpretation might be that he could not handle the ground. Probably just too small, not the muscle bulk of Sixties Habana say who was no bigger. 56 If I Say So – If they are supposed to be divided into 3 equal sections something went wrong here at the front end. Likeable look to him, shading into medium but will that huge neck and head prevent him from galloping properly? Not much sign of a good bunch from Stan Moore as yet. Tempted to think this one might improve to 68 or so but a big question mark over that front end. Ingleby Mackenzie – Plain type, bottom end of medium, hard to understand why he was a shorter price than Sixties Habana, presumably market reading SDS as first jockey. 61 Quandary Peak – Skinny rabbit 48 Lilly Ballerina – Rabbit 45 |
