Newcomers' Maiden. =========== Review Notes contributed by @hughonthehill (Twitter handle) ===== ==== Note :- The ratings number at the end of each review summary is an estimate of what OR they might reach rather than a reflection of how they ran on the day. See the Paddock Review Rating Section on this website for reference. South Seas review Not much of a race and whilst South Seas was visually impressive it may well have been more down to the quality of all but one of his rivals and the relative fitness edge over Winning Ways. South Seas Medium size, gangly and light throughout but very fit. Was off the bridal before Winning Ways but but plugged on when everything else had packed it in for one reason or another. 75 Winning Ways Mr Haggass charges seem to be way behind this season. This one just about the best in the paddock but still on the fat side. A bit stronger in all departments than South Seas. Very free early and Cosgrave had to have his head over the rail to stop him tearing off. This and the pulling took care of his chances 76 Platos Kode About medium, plain and not take the eye. Not in pre-parade so limited view, green and calling. 70 Act Of Freedom small and stocky, not very well made behind the saddle. Generally an unathletic look about him. 65 Just Maybe One of a few plain ordinary types. Bottom end of medium. Small groom syndrome. 65 Eternal Dream Top end of small, bright chestnut not fully fit. 67 Broughtons Knight About as big as Winning Ways but heavily made and not looking like an athlete. 62 Quothquan Not much to see here, small tubular, weak behind. Plugged on 60 Rah Balaraaj Baker debutant, fat, not fit, bit more size and potential than some 64 Glory Of Paris Another plain and ordinary one, down at shoulder, nurseries. 63 Private Mission withdrawn at start. Ok walker, colty, neat and ready type in a just over small frame. 68 |
