Rail Out increasing race distance by 12yds. =========== Review Notes contributed by @hughonthehill (Twitter handle) ===== ==== Note :- The ratings number at the end of each review summary is an estimate of what OR they might reach rather than a reflection of how they ran on the day. See the Paddock Review Rating Section on this website for reference. War Decree review I should read my own notes as my concerns about Boynton handling the track and his draw both played out. I am not at all sure anything would have beaten War Decree today however. War Decree Kept under a net rug until leaving the paddock. Lovely balanced specimen, very similar to thunder Snow but just that shade bulkier. Had the run of the race along with thunder Snow. 105 Thunder Snow Just a beautifully proportioned colt. Could easily grow up to match War Decree although only 10 days younger. Not quite the shoulder strength of his two chief rivals here. 102 Boynton All the size and scope one could want. Not quite the elegant proportions of the first two. His high head carriage that was noticeable on debut was in evidence here again, I dont think it is resolution, more his natural posture and possibly today also struggling with the bends and camber. 105 and a re-match on a flat track would be fascinating. Pleaseletmewin Still being very stupid in the paddock. Noticeably decent sized and at the lower end of big. 89 Repton Repton and Hakeem are quite similar in shape. Both just lacking a bit of buttock muscularity to take them into better class. Repton the better model, slightly more depth/scope 88 Isomer JPS gave a masterclass today of failing to get them out of the stalls in a timely fashion. Not just two year olds like this one either. He wasted the chances of Shakopee in the first and Buckstay in the Lennox. Cant the trainers read. 4% strike rate at the Glorious meeting. Only Bud (Hanagan) Flanagan of the supposed top jocks is worse on 3%. Yes he may fluke a win in a race where they all go too fast or if he lucks out on a front runner but why take the chance? Isomer not up to this in any case. 81 Jackhammer Cant think how I overlooked him at Salisbury fto. Fair size and shape, upper medium verging on big, very fit here. 79 Medieval Too close coupled to be able to stride out with most of these. Butty and deep bodied with a heavy look to him. Looks more sprinty. 78 Hakeem Had the pace top go with the leaders early but his shorter body and lesser scope found him out trying to match these big boys and he dropped out. 85 |
