See the Paddock Review Rating Section on this website for reference. Ultimate Avenue review – I am not sure that this was as much of a race as it was supposed to be. Poor time considering the fast ground and nothing really stood out as special other than perhaps Syndicate. Ultimate Avenue – A decent sized character but there was something about him that did not appeal as a potential better one. Strongly made but not a great stride. Did this pretty easily though. 88 Syndicate – Tall and leggy filly, perhaps a little lightly made for her height. Improve 82 Muhajjal – Lightly made compared with UA, pleasing proportions. Hanagan clearly under instrutions not to use stick on debut or might have got up for 2nd. 83 Colibri – Solidly made lower medium one. Abit tubular and unexciting for a Palmer 2to. Perhaps to heavy through the mid section to be able to shift efficiently. 77 Procurator – Ordinary looking boy. No great scope and will probably struggle outside nurseries or small courses. 76 Hushood – Medium, failed to take the eye and just a tad awkwardly made. Looks more of a galloping stayer. 74 Plant Pot Power – noticeably close coupled, seems to have lightened up since last run, ran with head on one side for a while. Maybe broken by trying to keep up with UA but faded tamely. The race at Sandown in which he finished 2nd is looking weaker now. 73 Flying North – Hard to believe this was a filly. Big and strong, caught the eye a few times, not fit and here for the experience but ran on stoutly. Might need a further run or two before getting her win. 78+ Meyrick – Biggest in the paddock and looking close to fit, just a hint of too much belly. Ran free early and then faded more than he perhaps should. If he was too fresh and too fat today then perhaps 80+ Tis Wonderful – Smallish and ordinary, another broken by a moderate pace early on. 67 Padrinho – Small, went ok for 4-5f before bigger boys lengthened away. Not sure why he made his debut here. 65 Sixties Sheila – Small filly, looking close to full fitness. Might look competitive in a Windsor maiden auction but out of her depth here. 62 Young Officer – Heavily made blocky type. Not fit, another Meehan disappointment in what is looking a very average season for his 2yos. 60 |
