Stalls Stands Side. ==== Review Notes contributed by @hughonthehill (Twitter handle) ===== ==== Note :- The ratings number at the end of each review summary is an estimate of what OR they might reach rather than a reflection of how they ran on the day. See the Paddock Review Rating Section on this website for reference. Kananee review Contemporaneous notes mislaid so comments from memory. First impression was of quite a decent paddock but most not really fit enough to give their best including Medici Banchiere. This begs the question as to whether that one found a strip of golden highway combined with the others going fast early on slower ground that flatters the result. Kananee Easily the tallest. Very fit but light framed. Not looking as though he would be a significant player later in the season. 82 Medici Banchiere Difficult to figure out what was behind this run. SP and relative lack of fitness do not seem to suggest that much was expected. Mid medium size and strongly made. Did not take the eye as a likely contender more because of dull coat and relative fitness level to a couple of the others. Still an impressive effort all the same despite bouncing and flailing pilot. 79 Logi Just about the pick on the day. Not 100% tuned but fitter than some of Hannons have looked. Strongly made, deep chested and balanced. Took a while to get organised and then ran on ok with only two taps. 82 The Nazca Lines Mid medium again, on the light side behind and still green on STO 77 In First Place Looked out of place amongst some of these. Hard from this picture to see where I got the good shape from on debut. Worth comparing the two pictures to see how the camera can alter ones perspective. 73 at best Mistime Similar shape to In First Place. Narrow. Showed some pace early 72 Computable Top end of medium, shading into big but in a chunky prop forward way rather than purely athletic. Close coupled and barrel like but in a good way. Lots of condition. 80 Comedy School Big MJ type. A bit raw. Leggy. Green, not hard fit. Needs to fill his frame. Could need a few runs to show his best. 76 La Haule Lady Plain type. High withers short neck. Ugly. 60 Hemingway Withdrawn at start. Solid and chunkily built. Green and not ready for the day physically or mentally. Well made though and should be ok. 77 I am left with the feeling I may have under-rated these. At the time they felt a better bunch, puzzling race. |
