Post Race ===

Palmer blog = "Gulliver disappointed me at York, not so much in the result but the fact that he didn't really help his jockey. Pat Smullen said that the horse spent most of the race looking behind him. Whether it was greenness or temperament, I don't know at this stage, but we will give him one more go, possibly Lingfield on June 2nd. But if he doesn't get his act together there he could pay for it with something that he holds dear. But that didn't do Gifted Master any harm!".

Admiralty Arch review

All the jockeys seemed to start riding a finish 3f out as if it was only a 5f race with Admiralty Arch finishing off best of all. However there were no deep closers as everything seemed to go off hard. Time not special, sectionals would be interesting to see if my impressions were correct.

Admiralty Arch – Top end of small, shading into medium. Some front end strength. Remained blanketed for much of the pre-parade but even when revealed did not grab the eye. Alert compared to many of these. Plenty of rib showing and very fit enabling him to see the 6f out well. 79

Masham Star – Close coupled little barrel. Solidly built, good condition. Not appearing as fit as some of MJ’s have so can be marked up a tad. 79

Gulliver – Did not look any fitter than fto so am assuming this is just the way he looks. Lower medium. Missed break again and perhaps disadvantaged by always racing on slower ground. 79

Tafaakhor – Similar size to Masham Star, bit bigger than Admiralty Arch and a heavier build. Not looking fit. Colty at times, 78

Thornton – Big unit, sleepy appearance around the pre-parade. Not that neatly made. Ran less well than I expected. Running green. Maybe needs further? 77

Harome - Ok build, small and strong should improve, 74

My Girl Maisie – Big, strong and fat. Definitely some potential when she gets fit. Worth keeping an eye on. 78

Charlie Chaplin – might find a weak race but appears to be massively over-rated by stable. 73

Lou’s Diamond – Lower end of medium, unathletic look to her. Tempted to think there might be potential as M Easterby ran her here but hard to see beyond around 72
