=== Pre Race ===
Fahey in his SL blog pre-race = "We're trying to pinch a little bit of black type with Vona in the Marygate Fillies' Stakes and it would be lovely to get some. She just got stage fright at Southwell first time out and then she ran a good race at Chester which I think was probably a warm race where she was a shade unlucky. I'd say on form she's got a bit to find but she's entitled to run".
=== Post Race ===
Picture below of the finish with Vona (white), Perfect Madge (orange) & Twizzell (W & purple sleeves). Boater hidden behind Vona.
Boater on the left in Picture below with the smaller Vona on the right. Check where Vona was at Halfway and did she part-mug a more prominent racing Boater?
Fahey Quotes after the 33/1 win. = "I'm very surprised, Nick made the entry and there's not much more I can say really. She got into a rhythm and came home strongly. [Queen Mary NTO?] she's a Listed winner now so there's nowhere else to go really ". Jk Garrity said = "Her first two runs were educational and she improved a lot for Chester. The way she was going away I'd say there's more to come again".
In the race notes for Vona's debut run the B2yoR notes said = "Interested in the background to Vona. Owned by Nick Bradley who is behind a lot of the Middleham Park Racing buying success and trained by a shrewd operator on that partnership's account. Which raised the possibility that Vona was a usable one, at least, getting going early to advertise Bradley's new business venture (?). 20/1 said today wasn't the day even if she was usable. ".
Perhaps Nick Bradley is so shrewd he doesn't even tell Fahey how things are going work out. Perhaps at 33/1 he doesn't even tell himself. Hmm, what's it all about, eh?
