2mm Watering on Sat. GGF on Decs. === Post Race === Faster time and better time performance than either of the preceding 6f Novice Divs. 3rd win in the race in 4 years for Channon (no runner in 2015). Previous wins with a small filler who was barely an OR50 in real terms and never won again and ended up over hurdles. In 2014 a smaller stocky colt who Brian Ellison claimed and got rated OR80+ but could only win another seller with him and sold him to fo to the middle east for 19k at 2yo season end. Channon has a record over the years of putting a variety of types into sellers including the odd ones who got rated OR90+ during their careers (Mister Hughie a good example). Zig Zag Girl could have excuses for her last two poor runs having got involved in a pace war on Soft STO and then running poorly on Soft 3TO. Getting into a good rhythm here on the rail and winning with, apparently, a bit in hand. But, work on the basis she is a 60s filly with a bit of 'leak 70s' in the right conditions. Lacks scope and build but in good condition here and moving fluently. ZZG allowed to leave the stable for £16k here to go to the Dixon yard. |
