Azygous continued the fast start to the season by the trainer and confirmed the view formed of him that he would be competitive early sprinter despite his 5k gns sales price. He ran close to expectations and received some support from 7/2 3rd favourite to 5/2 favourite as Slack Willy Hilly and Angelina Bankes drifted. The test will be how much improvement he can show assuming the trainer has his runners very ready on debut in 2005 given his record so far.

Piccostar ran slightly above expectations but within the scale of her sales review. She received each-way support from 25/1 to 12/1. This was her trainer's second 2yo debut and was much readier and more competitive than the earlier runner in a seller. She has prospects to be a minor winner rated in the 60s on this run.

Slack Willy Hilly drifted from 9/4jf to 3/1 second favourite. He ran a very similar race to his first run here and again looked short of pace as the race quickened and showed no response in the straight. It is rare for a runner for the trainer to show great improvement from the form they show in their first two runs. On this run he would struggle to win even in a seller.

Jazz At The Sands received some support from 7/1 to 5/1 and again ran freely and led (2 or 3 wide off the rail) before a solid fade in the straight. Despite the trainer's poor record with 2yo wins he may be able to develop after a break to be the small Southwell winner his trainer usually manages.

Angelina Bankes opened 9/4jf but quickly drifted to 4/1 third favourite. She ran very poorly on her third run and never got into the  race as she had done here on debut. She was eased and tailed off.
