BRITISH 2YO RACING - 2005 Season Race Report
023: Lingfield,
April 9th : 5f (6) Auction
RACE SUMMARY
A race that went close to expectations and run in an average time. A professional
performance from Piccostar off her low weight and she can probably
rate slightly more highly; Kung Hei showing better form back on
the polytrack but again vulnerable to slightly bigger and heavier runners.
Getbuzzin looked to lack the pace for this this downhill 5f and
if he is to reach a 70 rating it will need to be in a different test and
probably over 6f.
Casablanca Minx showed more pace and zip than her finishing position
suggested having made ground quite quickly downhill well wide but then
running a little wider into the straight before plugging on once balanced
again. Trainer doesn't have a good record of converting minor promise into
wins but the type that some trainers would find a small race she could
win.
Crocodile Bay (6/1 and trainer's first runner of the season) and
Hasty Passion (20/1, 5lb apprentice) both have pedigrees which suggest
that a fast 5f is not their ideal race. Neither got in to the race on debut
and showed moderate form slightly below expectations.
The following tables gives the ratings given to the actual race performances
('Estimate') compared to the Profile ratings assigned before the race.
Boxes in green indicate a runner that over-performed in the race against
the pre-race profile and in pink one that notably under-performed.
