April 8th SUMMING UP
|
A race unlikely to have any particular future relevance with minor winners
at best. Kung Hei and Piccostar have their limitations but have already
shown themselves to be capable of producing low 60s rating at this course.
Getbuzzin is a slightly better physical type but has to give the other
two 4lb more than weight-for-sex because of his sales price. He showed
an acceptable debut level of form in the context of this race on his debut
in a slow race on wet turf.
|
RACE QUALITY:
|
The early season auction races at the course tend to be of variable quality
and usually take a performance between 55-68 to win although occasionally
a better runner like Dusty Dazzler in 2002 can rate over 80.
The average race will have only minor winners, and probably AW winners,
behind the winner.
This race has only one runner (Getbuzzin) carrying extra weight because
of the price he cost at the sales. All other runners were relatively cheap
and run off the base weight in line with the usual weight-for-sex allowances.

TRAINERS:
|
M Wallace has won an earlier season Auction race at the course in 2003.
WGM Turner has had a representative in the early season Auctions races
in each year 2002-4. In 2002 he won one with the useful Dusty Dazzler but
has had three poor runners in 2003-4 (in line with the quality in the stable).
J Osborne has his first runner of the season (later than in 2004 when he
earliest runners also made debuts on the Lingfield AW). He had a moderate
runner finish unplaced in the race in 2004 on her second run.
The sales and paddock review rating suggest a normal race with only minor
future winners involved.

SIRES:

First season sire Primo Valentino
(Kung Hei) has a runner.

PADDOCK & SALES REVIEWS:
|
Kung Hei was paddock reviewed at Lingfield on March 19th and rated 60.
Summarised with "Small and limited by size but solid build and neatly put
together. 60s sprinter early season."
Getbuzzin was rated 71 at the sales as an 'at best rating' for the first
half of the season.
Hasty Passion was rated 61 at the sales with a slightly below average chance
of being a competitive 2yo at her level. Note as being rather narrow.
Piccostar was rated 59 at the sales with a blow average chance of being
a competitive 2yo at her level.
