APRIL 11th SUMMING UP
|
The profiles of Salute Him & Cool Creek stand out especially given
that they should both show good improvement from debut ratings. It is a
difficult choice between them especially with Cool Creek receiving 6lbs
and with his trainer having finally had a winner.

RACE QUALITY:
|
The race has required a wide range of performances to win in the range
75-95.
The 2003 race was chaotic with a tearaway pacemaker and the winner being
10 lengths adrift and outpaced at halfway (ran over 8f NTO) for example.
The 2002 race saw a strong group with the best of the early season winners
producing a 90+ performance.

TRAINERS:
|
R. Hannon has had a runner in the last three races and all have
been previous winners. In general he chooses the best of his early winners
and they tend to 80s rated during the season. In 2005 he has made a slow
start and has not had a winner by the time of the declarations for the
race. He has now had his first winner with STO runner Grimes Faith showing
good improvement (trainer typical) to win an ordinary Lingfield AW maiden.
M. Channon has not had a runner in the race sine 2005 when previous
winner Bravo Ragasso finished 5th in a tougher race than this one for the
same owner.
WGM Turner has not had a runner in the race since 2002 when Brockleby
winner The Lord finished third in a tough race. Lord Jack Flash is owned
by the same owner breeder as that 2002 runner.

SIRES:
|
First season sire Mull Of Kintyre
(Salute Him) has a runner. He has made the best start by new sires at the
earliest stage of this season.
