APRIL 21st SUMMING UP
|
As with the claimer at Bath today the weight allowances have produced a
close and open race on profile. None of the runners look capable of 'outclassing
the others and therefore the effect of the draw, professional starts, etc.
will be much more important than in a a maiden with more mixed ability.
Baytown Lulu ran yesterday and did not show improved form but with experience
and receiving up to 19lbs from other runners she comes out top in profile
but with no real confidence. The race she ran in yesterday highlights a
point to consider for this race because outsiders finished first and second
there. Part of the reason for this was the 'better' runners setting too
strong a pace for themselves because they had to 'race' each other in a
close affair.
Of the runners here Half Pint Bill, Sky Lodge, Dancing Edge and Sadie are
likely to press the pace which may be a disadvantage.
In summary a low level 'handicap' with none of the runners having a real
'edge'.
