MAY 17th SUMMING UP

Those that have already run look mostly moderate and only Making Music
has a profile which suggests there may be reasonable improvement here.
She was notably outpaced at Beverley early in the race and steps up to
6f. She should be more prominent here but be unlikely to set a strong standard.
This leaves a moderate race which a competent performance from a better
newcomer may well be enough to win. Dixie Belle's trainer has already
won two similar races on debut with his four 2yo winners to date and another
finished second beaten by a slightly better type having it's second run.
She was smallish at the sales but looked capable of late 60s ratings and
ought to be able to rate around 60 here.
Soviet Terms represents a trainer who normally only gets debut wins
with his best types. She would need to be above average to win but should
be prominent in a not particularly strong race on profile.
Song Huntress is interesting because she is the first 2yo runner
for her trainer and a late start for him. He is a very good example of
a 'Show FTO or Nothing' trainer in that he has his 2yos fit and professional
on debut and if they don't win or place then they aren't very good. She
is likely to be very ready here to run to her best but just lacks some
quality in her profile overall.
