JUNE 9th SUMMING UP
  • A low quality race in prospect with the three previous winners in the field having won in races equivalent to seller level. Highland Song won a seller on debut and became her trainer's initial FTO winner. She looked small and limited but a ready type with a willing attitude. It feels odd to have a penalised seller winner trained by R Fisher at the head of the profile but this indicates the low quality overall. She lost ground at the start at Musselburgh but won a little comfortably but will need to be more professional here.
  • The race has three runners who have shown their best form setting or pressing the pace. Coquet Island & Conciliate in particular seem likely to force a strong pace and will cause problems for Highland Song if she does not break well. Coquet Island gets his first chance to go 5f on a fast track so we will find out if he has the basic pace for that and can actually see the last furlong out well.
  • City For Conquest pressed the pace last time in first time blinkers but that was such a moderate race that the others were probably not going fast enough for her. In receipt of weight she is the most likely to benefit if Highland Song fails to come up to expectations. She will probably be able to adapt to tracking a strong pace if necessary.
  • RACE QUALITY:
  • Normally a moderate to average race featuring early season winners and with little future relevance. The last two races have been won by maidens who had more scope to improve from the previous form they had shown.
  • Rating in the range 65-75 have usually been sufficient to win.
  • SIRES:
  • First season sire City On A Hill (City For Conquest) has a runner.
