2Rain turned going to GS. Race had strong pace for conditions & 1st three through halfway stall before final furlong. 1st three home together in centre track in back half of field for first 1.5 furlongs as DKeasha blast away in lead. EInstinct 2nd early. DLaura & Azif press on together early. LScotland make some ground to 4th at halfway with EInst. already going backwards. As leaders fade Misheer, LS & Aalsmeer make progress. LS & Aals. in midtrack & Misheer stumble to 1.5F out and taken to far rail afterwards. Misheer led and respond well to challenges from LS and finally from Aalsmeer. Misheer small and trainer said she hated going & won on class. Goes to Queen Mary and can rate higher. LS & Aalsmeer travel well behind pace & perhaps helped by centre track runs & missing very early pressing on. DLaura persist best of pacemakers but probably little scope to improve and similar for Azif. DKeasha look very speedy & a fast 5f on firmer going would see her rating much higher. Others never able to go comfortably with pace and faded. Mrs Boss always off back and make places by picking off dead horses. Eternal Instinct a real disappointment and attended the pace this time after held up on debut. Losing ground before halfway and faded soon after. Looked tired & unbalanced late and perhaps a problem more than just fading. Had beaten runner-up here easily FTO when the pace roles were reversed. Worth a chance to see how she performs when held up. |
