GF by race time. GFG in early am as on decs. Watering but no details given. br> === Pre Race === Fahey quote from his SLife piece = "Holy Grail surprised us when winning first time up at Ripon. They went very fast up front that day and she came through to pick up another one of ours close home. Whether she was flattered or not I don’t know but her speed figure was good. She wouldn’t be top of the pecking order on what we see at home – but that isn’t always the best guide. In contrast, it was no surprise to see Kept Under Wraps win on debut at Nottingham. She’s a talented filly and if the Beverley pair worked together she’d come up the gallop better. I like her.". === Post Race === Pace too strong with the leading pair going too hard and pulling the field out and long gaps by 2f gone for a 5f race here (with experieinced 2yos in, relatively). Easton Angel a slow start on the rail the seemed to be hauled back to 3R and a whopping 6L back at Halfway. Pace folding back soon into last 2F and EA able to make progress just at her own pace. Into the Leading line 1f out and an average kick to get to the lead with only the 2R Opal Tiara still going forward and needing to be passed. Winning a bit comfortably but race amounted to besting a somewhat softened up OT. EA a different physical type and more of a mdiuem, IP balanced sprinter. EA sold to Al Shaqab after this run. Opal Tiara running to a similar level when 7th in the Windsor Castle (drawn miles away from the pacemakers). |
