=== Post Race ===
Slower Pace with Tafaakhor leading on the rail but not quite settled. Attended by Blue Point looking as professional in the race as he did in the prelims. Rising Eagle pulling too hard away from the rail. Pace winding up a little from just before 2f out but the final Sprint not much more than 1f. Blue Point going comfortably and able to put in a kick towards 1f out to go by Tafaakhor but BP then hanging left so not pushed out. BP winning with some comfort.
Interesting race set up for PRev. With the NRs a 2 horse race unless something unusual showed up in PRev amongst the 'others'. Tafaakhor setting an OR80ish standard but beatable by a good and ready newcomer, which Blue Point had the Profile to be.
Blue Point (left above) a slight surprise on first view because he is just medium size and not a 'big' frame. But, for a person who likes bigger ones, BP one that you could warm to for a number of reasons. Firstly that he is neatly made and together and he looks like a compactish sprinter. Deep in front and strong enough behind. Moves well to add to the 'together' sprinter type view. Also, a quiet professional, mentally mature, and fit enough. Believeable he is an OR90+ sprinter, even if his size raises a doubt over him being a higher class one. Apart from hanging left when asked to kick showed the same maturity in the race and a comfortable win. Ought to rate OR90+ and interesting to see what his kick is actually capable of.
As the pictures above hint at, Tafaakhor unlike BP as a physical type. The pictures are not to a comparable scale an Tafaakhor is actually a taller and rangier model than BP. But, his neck is too long and he is lengthier and seems to be running up a bit light behind. He was also the mentally immature one in the prelims despite being on 3TO. Generally a bit sloppy and unfocussed and a bout of being colty. Pulled together a bit when saddled but looking a bit all-passion-spent. Not settled enough nor professional in the lead and then hanging left to chase BP in the last 1f. A bit Head to the right and looking less than professional. Has the frame to develop if he can strengthen up and still needs to grow up mentally. The type who might need 7-8f and can develop further and interesting for those higher class Nurseries (say the 7f one at GDWD).
Maazel smaller and compact and lacking athleticism. Nurery project and reasons for longer SP FTO visible. Say a 63-4.
Spun Gold one of the first batch of 2yo runners for Cumani and in a typical season 2 of the first 3 (or 3 of 4) prove to be winners of various abilities (from OR60 nursery projects through to Postponed). SG out of a sprint bred dam who was very slow and has produced 7-10f 3yo winners. SG looking nothing like a sprinter, entirely different shape to BP, for eg. Long bodied and a bit narrow. OK size but a worry he may be a slower galloper or just a medium mix of fast sire and slow dam. Would expect him to need 7f+ and his size said he might be able to get 70+. Interesting to see how he develops and strengthens.
Rising Eagle smaller one and a 65ish nursery project. Mister Blue Sky a similar type to REagle but a big bigger all round - 69?
