SUMMARY
=== Pre Race ===

Fahey SL piece wrt Champion Harbour = "He's a horse we quite like and while he's laid-back and will improve for the experience, he does go okay."

=== Post Race ===

Preceding race a Class 6 App Hcap won by 6yo Lewisham in 65.07s carrying 3lbs more than this winner. Lewisham winning by 6L from a bunch of more typical Old Lags. Lewisham a Maiden 2yo but earned OR107 at one point having blagged a place in the July Stakes. He won an early season maiden at 3yo in 2013 and a Graph of his OR has been a Straight Line down since. Until, he placed 2nd in a Hcap off OR57 LTO and ran off OR60 here. Explain that Career, use both sides of the paper. The 6L winning distance perhaps just due to handling testing going but perhaps a flicker of whatever old 'Fire' he used to have is still there.

This the 4th slowest juvenile time out of 118 races since start 2002 season. To get a feel for the possible quality similar times have been run by Ishi Honest (ended season well beaten off OR73) and Little Libretto in recent years. Little Libretto a tiny Evans trained filly who won a race she shouldn't by handling conditions. She had dropped to OR66 in her last Nursery before dropped to sellers and never ran as a 3yo. A hint that Letmestopyouthere might be more Evans hothoused early season rabbit than the 3.5L 'easy winner' some reports have him down as. More of that in the PRev notes received. Shortage of pictures due to a cock-up on the Camera front but assurances this will be fixed. Thank god it's the 21st Century.

Letmestopyouthere another winner to come out of the ruck of horses beaten 9L+ by Sutter County on Day 1 of the season. How much of that down to lesser types finding winnable races and how much down to real ability? But, the win here and the effort by Princess Way yesterday showing that Evans has got his STO runners tuned up after that raft of poor debuts very early on. Letmestopyouthere clueless on debut and got chopped back on the rail after a slow start. Began this race by veering Left to race widest in centre track and any advantage in that? Worth noting that Lewisham raced in Centre Track and 2nd widest of his field in winning the 1st race clear.

=== Pdk Rev Summary ===

An example where the final result on-the-day clashes with the Paddock Review (negative correlation). Possible responses to that would be to pack in or retreating into writing "Nice Type" next to every horse. More positively it is an opportunity to delve deeper into what causes results like this if, for example, you believe Ventura Blues is a fundamentally better athlete than Letmestopyouthere. Try these two questions to start the thinking about 'failure'. Does the result between the first 3 make sense? Do the better types that finished behind Letmestopyouthere have valid excuses?

Letmestopyouthere = A real negative when the rug removed. Smallish, light framed. Too leggy and shallow bodied. A scrawny neck. A Bits and Pieces (B&P) set-up. Very fit. Relaxed attitude. Mentally ready. [56]

Valentino Boy Expensive one for new sire Bated Breath (at the shorter end of Sires). Rugged. Medium height. Lengthier body and lacking some build behind, ok in front. The most mentally immature of the group. SBP and lacking readiness overall. Hard to see what the premium price was for. [71]

Champion Harbour Tallest in the field but slightly narrow bodied. Weaker in Front. Leggy and generally looking physically immature. A Tall frame that you would want to see how he developed physically, if he did. Harder to judge now because he looks a 'frame'. Slightly mentally immature. Not a definite 75+ & not a ready enough type for a Fahey FTO competer. [73]

The other image of Ventura Blues above.

Ventura Blues filly by the new sire Bated Breath and less expensive than Valentino Boy. Best Type in the group, as you would probably predict given the purchasing ability of the Hannon/Doyle and MPR teams. Medium height at most with above average sprinter length. Deeper bodied throughout and the best build in the group (despite being the only filly). Also the most together set-up. Relaxed but not mentally ready and not fit enough. [82]

Lucata Mental image from watching the videos of him being a smaller but compact and ready now sprinter. A bit different in PRev. Taller than expect and that leg length not matching with a compact (prob too compact) body length. Still notably up behind with that mixture not looking 'right' as a set-up. Ok medium build and ok sprinter snap to movement behind. Relaxed att. [73]

King Of Castilla. The other Tallish but Narrow type in the field. Not as Tall as CH and a bit less build overall. Unlike CH he looks complete now and lacking scope other than perhaps to strengthen a bit. Neat enough made but a bit 'Toy' and lacking power. Good condition and the one of the field too On Toes. [65]
