Ardad review – run in a faster time than the Kings Stand, hard to know what to make of Ardad, I completely missed him in the pre-parade. Can’t see this as anything but a poor quality renewal. Low draws helped by fast early pace from yank Big City Dreamin. Ardad – Looked very fit but no sort of stand-out individual. Lower medium size, very fit. Comparing him with last years runners he does not look of the same calibre as Washington DC, more of an early 2yo Lathom 86 Savannah’s Dream – Good proportioned filly, but another hard to see beforehand. 78 Pedestal – Small, neat and ready type. 80 Full Intention – First home from stand side group, raced centre course. Longish model, bit plain. 78 Callender – Medium sized, lengthy, athletic and fit, possibly lacking some substance behind. Drawn high baulked early and last in the slow group at 2f. Ran on very well on slower ground. Possibly best in race. 85 Pretty Vacant – Lower medium, deep chest, lighter behind. 77 Yulong Baobei – Very fit, medium sized, possibly the biggest in the field. Bit keen early trying to take on Big City dreamin. Probably needs firmer going. 79 Just An Idea – Small ready type. Fit, did well from slow side. 75 Top Score – Not sure how I saw this as an 87 on debut, calm today, very bottom end of medium, bit up behind and might still be better than finishing position today suggests. 78 Leontes – bigger very lightly made behind. 76 Stringybark Creek – Ordinary but tries hard. 75 Battaash – Small, neat well made. Very upset in stalls and better than this showing. 80 Bolt Phantom – Small, well balanced 74 Fayez – Stable mate of second Savannah’s Dream and hard to not see them as of similar quality. Perhaps a bit lighter. Neat athletic. 75 Tomily – Broken by trying to go with big boys early, all reputation without the strength to match. 75 Big City Dreamin – Awful looking creature with over-developed shoulders and back end and dip back. At some stage a halt should be called to these chemically engineered beasts being allowed to run over here. Not worth rating as I doubt it will be seen over here again. Drafted – Just an ordinary type, very much on the leg. 73 Ambiguity – Ok size, maybe medium but tailing off. 73 Big Lachie – Not well drawn but no progress made from debut. 72 Mister Trader – Medium sized, looked in good nick, expected him to compete for win. Like tomily tried to mix it with Frankenstein’s monster early and paid the price. Still disappointing. 79 Copper Knight – Palmer did well to get the early win into this one. Looked really small, very fit but has done his winning for a while. 74 Kananee – Looked fantastic in paddock, only medium sized but well balanced and looking very fit. Presumably ground an issue and should be followed nto on good or aw. 82 |
