Larchmont Lad review – Hard to split the three principals in this race on paddock review. Even the poorer ones in this race were not too bad and it may be ok despite slow time. For Maths Prize to come from so far back suggests he has some serious potential.

Larchmont Lad – Medium sized. Practically impossible to split Larchmont and Plant Pot. LL perhaps a tad longer but then not quite as deep in the chest. 84 Maths Prize – Medium, bit more strength in the loin linkage than LL and PPP but slightly lighter in the back end. Marginally less fit than the two Hannon boys. Stayed on very well all the way up the hill, a rare feat at Sandown 85

Plant Pot Power – To my eye slightly more pleasing than Larchmont Lad and the market suggesting that the stable were of a similar mind. Medium size, well made, perhaps the slightly glossier coat influenced my preference. 82

Naval Warfare – More of a class 5 model. Bit smaller than the first three and just a bit less of everything. Maybe still up behind and a tad squared off. 77

Western Duke – Another medium slightly longer model. Less fit than some, more of a galloper. 77

Oceanus – Grown up a bit and close to medium, not very physically balanced between shoulder and rump. As said on debut, not that taking. 76

Glendun – Small light bodied model. Not size or scope of principals 70

City Dreamer – Looks smaller in the picture than he presented. Lightish type, better than showed here. 73

Onomatopeia – Great big strong but limited type. Awkwardly made who looks as though he has a couple more ribs than the others. Galloped well in the front and probably did too much early. Should win something if he settles better in future. 74

Arborist – Big lad, heavy with an unathletic set to him. Green and immature. 71

Junoesque – Ordinary type lacking length and strength or fitness. 62

Rakematiz – Ok size in the medium range. Unfit and an awkward/clumsy look to him. Presumably will improve with racing but no appeal as a 2yo. 65
