Slow Time for Fast Conditions.

In the 'Halls of Infamy' of Rotten Evens Favourites Lucata would merit some sort of cautionary evidence. The clues seemed visible before the race. After a slow starting poor season in 2015 trainer Dascombe has targeted a more press early 2yo 2016 MO and bought yearlings to fit that approach. The early season debuts and signs were good and a number of promising debuts. But, only a couple of wins so far and a number of promising types seemed to be regressing with racing. Lucata making a good debut and then seeming to not quite stay STO. On 3TO he just seemed to fall apart inexplicably after 3f+. Add to that jk Kingscote seems to have gone over the top with the Lead and Press-the-Pace approach. Since you could not trust Lucata, at all, this race should have been a 3-sided coin toss in the Market unless PRev showed something.

In the race Kingscote hustled Lucata to the front and let him run too free. But, that didn't excuse the way Lucata fell apart (again) in the 4th x 1f. Like something wrong with him physically.

As it was Assassinate is a bulkier and stronger model than Lucata and would have probably pulled clear anyway just as a better type. Assassinate on STO having made and unplaced debut in France. Around a 75.

Tap Tap Boom smaller and less strong than Assassinate and perhaps no even a 70. Work on a 65-69.
