Rhododendron review – Run in a sea fret. Photos a bit misted too.

Rhododendron – That powerfully wound tightly sprung look that Aiden O’Brien achieves, no more than lower medium but some length and scope. Still green. Will no doubt progress into a listed plus type. 90

Amabilis – Not as neatly made as Rhodo, and less scope. 82

Argenterie – Smaller shorter bodied type, hard to see the potential for what she did here beforehand although looks to have a good chest cavity. Possibly aided by rail. Price suggests this was a surprise to connections who ran three. 77

Berengaria – Neat and ready, not very big, fit 76

Sun Angel – Not seen without blanket as per photo and looks to have run to rating from Newbury. 80

The Stalking Moon – Lightly made, ready but did not look to have the substance to compete here. 74

Helmsdale – Very similar model to Amabilis with if anything a bit more substance. Can so better than this 78

Lady Valdean – Not a bad model from Jose Santos, seemed fit enough and a lightly built upper medium height filly, another bigger Helmet model. Ok set up, should go on from this debut. Good value for £600 - 74

Silver Link – Ok medium build. Not fit 73

Cheeky Fox – Just a bit less substance than Helmsdale and less well set up. Perhaps a bit upright. 70

Vrika Bay – Taking big strong filly. Looked fit, photo suggests something a bit awry with the set up which might explain the £1700 price. Worth watching, might be ok for a maiden. 76

Manama – Looked to be going through a growing spurt as very up behind and looking weak. The stocky strength seems to have evaporated. Maybe she hates the rain, whatever she ran very poorly. Does not look the same filly as at Newmarket. Benefit of the doubt and lljust knock her down form 80 to 75
