=== Post Race ===

[May 15th] Went back to VRev the race because it has produced the Marygate Winner and Mehmas won a £33k Conditions race the day after the Marygate. Low ratings given because of a slow looking time. What was the Shape of the race and how promising were 1st/4th? Another part of the reason for the low [Ests] given was Madam Dancealot running 2nd given she was a £5k Breeze Sale retainee. Looking back at her Breeze Video she looks smaller to small but solidly built. She also looks a trier (a bit head up) and gets unbalanced and hangs left late on but still going forward at the line. Did she get the run-of-the-race given she finished 2nd in a race where the other 3 in the first 4 look OR80+ and 1st/4th well above that. Mehmas (another breeze sale buy) appears to be this year's Hannon Coventry colt that runs wel at NWBY's mid-May meeting. Vona an '88er' or any better?

Worth noting that Melesina ran in the 1st Colours of Nick Bradley's new Syndicate venture with Hanagan riding (drawn 8) with Vona ridden by Garrity (drawn 2). MPR regularly run 2+ in races and the 1st/2nd+ colours are often misleading as to which is the better prospect (both for the day and career overall).

=== VRev ===

As ever at the course the Break and Pick-up from the stalls sets the Shape of the whole race. Redrosezorro in Stall 1 a slow start wgich allowed Vona to lead on the rail early but jk Garrity allowing (prob too accommodating) Madam Dancealot to cut him off with Vona getting a good tow in 2R on the rail. Hugely predictably Kingscote forced Full Intention forward from the widest stall to Clear/Cross to end up 1 wide outside MissD in the leading pair.

Slow pick-up from Mehmas wide out and Dettori happy to let him drop back to sit 4R 1 wide well back. Lostock a slow start and at the back from the start and then running a bit free on the rail after 1f. Melesina an average start and allowed to drop in but then losing groung at 1f+ and dropping adrift. Pace looking solid with field stretched at halfway.

Overall view that the Pace a bit too fast and the prominent races starting to fold back in the last 0.5f but not far off usable. Upgrade view of Madam Dancealot partly because she looked a similar frame and a bit better built than Vona whne cutting across her to take the lead (by part force). MadamD showing the same willingness and consistent gait and stride to hang on well. Ok for 75+ and will get OR80+ at some point.

Mehmas not standing out for size but a bit more length than average here. Showed more than typical in being able to 'fetch' the prominent racers in the last 1f and going away at the finish. A race set-up where his final performance on final time ordinary but with more potential.

Vona having to pull out to find a run into the last 1f and got unbalanced and then held in by Mehmas going past wide. Could upgrade her effort if she had got balanced and run straight. On size grounds inclined to think she is a 88-91 2yo in real terms and not a Group type.

Full Intention running ok given the effort to get prominent and racing off the rail. But another Dascombe 2yo not progressing and not seeing the race out fully. Ok for 78-81 say if he gets back to proper form level.

Lostock looking a smaller to Mdm compact/deep 'bull'. Too green and raced unbalanced at times. Average effort in the HS but presume 75+.

Melesina (12/1 to Vona's 20/1) finishing quite strongly after getting well behind. Looking a size above Vona and probably a different type (not as much of a 'now' speedball). She ran too prominently in a race with a too fast pace FTO and probably didn't handle the track here. Inclined to take a positive view of Melesina's development potential (+ve view of connections to assists that take).
