SUMMARY
GFG from GSG on Decs.

Stalls Stands Side of Outer Course.

=== Post Race ===

Picture at Halfway. Rapacity Alexander (B&W) leading off rail, Magical Forest (Pink & B) 2nd on rail, Primrose Place (Red), Yes You "(Yellow), Snoozy Sioux (B & Orange). Winner Spin Doctor hidden behind YYou (Red with Blue Cap).

=== Summary ===

Race with a mixed history and a typical edition would have 1 x 85+ and then be a bit light in quality after that. Some years have produced no susbsequent solid Open Maiden winners and the bulk of the fields sub-70. This field looking a lower quality end of the range, short on possible 80+ prospects depending upon what type Spin Doctor was.

Fahey had won the race in 2013 & 2015 with debut fillies. The first was Sandiva who looked a 70s filly in won at Gp3 level in Europe at 2-3yo and Gr3 level in the US late on Turf (Gr3s can be weak contests there and OR88 could get wins).

=== PRev ==

A field where you hope something, preferably unexpected, stands out in PRev amongst a field of 50-74 fillies and will be able to win on physical superiority even if a bit green.

Spin Doctor made a touch harder to judge by the 'going grey' washing out effect. Only brifly seen and the most noticeable point was how laid back and professional she was. Medium, or smaller side of, and a ready, clean enough, set-up. Medium power. Ready type who will rate over OR80 but looking the type to max out at Conditions level. Will presumably try Listed+ given the owners. [78].

Rapacity Alexander a full sister to Gr1 sprinter Peniaphobia with the pictures below of both of that pair early in May of their 2yo seasons.

Rapacity Alexander costing 90k so might have been that 'bigger standout' in this field. As the picture shows a lot of that 90k was for having a useful brother rather than her own physical presence. Pictures below show Spin Doctor and Rapacity Alexander and they are similar set-ups but with RA having a bit less of everything - build, depth, neatness, etc. [72]

Magical Forest- A mostly understandable result to the race by factoring PRev with readiness. Magical Forest not looking the 80+ standout but competing to be the biggest frame and solidly built. Not fit and trainer Botti seems to need Listed+ types to get FTO wins in recent seasons. Godd run being prominent down the rail and an ok prospect. [75]

Primrose Place - if you seen a lot of Hannon 2yos in PRev and Primrose Place came into view you might wonder what went wrong with the Hannon/Doyle sale buying operation. PP looks nothing like the physical type they buy. No surprise to see that she isn't a sale buy and came to Hannon via some other route. Probably the tallest in the field and in excellent condition and a bright attitude. Things to like in PRev and a Hannon trained STO so a 'player'? Then if you see her end on the negatives are visible. A notably narrow body and a gawky neck. Lacking power and a 'Compton Place' taller frame but lacking the build to shift it. [64]

Snoozy Sioux one of the first pair of fillies to appear along with Magical Forest. As a pair they looked more well built than the average filly in this race historically although neither of the pair looking fit enough. Looking at SSioux on her Picture '5' she looks a solid build but too front heavy. Longer neck, deep enough in front but then tailing away to a somewhat mismatched size and power behind. Ran too freely in the race and set-up a bit limiting. But, ought to be usable at a lower level but the trainer a negative and hasn't had a 2yo place yet. If SSioux was with Channon, for e.g., you know he would win something with her but unknown with Martin Smith. [64]

Savannah Slew the bigger of the Given pair and ok Tall. But a bit narrow bodied and not that neatly made behind. [69-70]

Yes You with some similarities as a type to Primrose Place and a leggy, narrow chestnut. YY a bit less narrow but a Bits and Pieces set-up and less well prepared and mentally ready. YY looking too underpowered and ill put together toi be usable. [51]

Roys Dream with some build positive if you went chasing a positive. But a small one and not neatly made. [56]

Shadow Wing another chestnut filly lacking build and underpowered in the field. Medium Tall but too compact body to make a suspect set-up to add to the lack of power issue. [55]

Misty Moo costing only £1.8k but looks ok for that money. Well prepared physically by trainer Appleby so check why the poor run. Smaller type but ok body depth and mostly balanced set-up. Ought to be usable. [63]

Black Redstart a smaller one, slightly narrow, lacking build and not 'thriving'. Looked like she had a negative attitude on the day. [60]

Clear As A Bell an interesting sample horse. In a field of including a number of taller and narrow chestnut fillies (of different quality level) CAAB is a better built chestnut, if shorter and low slung. Just in 'Power' terms some positives in this field. But, in body set-up she is not a compact sprinter. The body too long and as iff she has had an extra 'Section' added down her back. Despite the length she does overstride ok at the walk and appears to move balanced. The real issue seemed to be that she doesn't look or move like a psrinter. TP she seemed to be labouring and moving like a galloper. She isn't a fast ground 5f filly on set-up nor movement. She should need further and a worry she will just be slow. You could rate her 60s on size and build but drops below that because of the movement doubts. [59]
