Race transferred from Turf Course before Decs because of unraceable going. Then transferred back to the Turf after two warmer days after a long cold spell. === Pre Race === Ed Dunlop's blog on morning of the race = "Tibr runs in the five furlong Novice Stakes and he is a horse I like but I believe he will be better over six furlongs in time. Whether he will be able to beat a horse with an experience edge and a well bred horse of Godolphin’s today over five furlongs I don’t know but I hope he can show us the signs he has shown us at home on the racetrack.". === Post Race == Trainer Dunlop has rare FTO wins and rare early runners. Tibr the 2nd well supported FTO winner of the season to suggest the pair have looked ready and professional types at home. Tibr just medium size but with a strong build. Turf track at full width but no sign of a rail bias. Tibr pulling out away from the rail by Halfway and making his forawrd move away from it. Poet's Society making an awkward pick-up fromt he widest draw to be last early and then pulling forawrd to race 1 wide. Kreb's Cycle and unbalanced start and looked unbalanced through the race. Ended up in 2R on the rail but the jk active to some extent through most of the race. Flat effort looking like something troubling the horse. Appleby early debuts have been notably unready, as a group, in last 2 seasons. Solid run for his first runner yesterday at ASCT (Romantic View) and although well beaten Sword Exceed making the fastest break and racin competently in the lead on the rail until fading back. Not the NIR type debut. SExceed a mixed pedigree made up of a notably 2yo oriented Australian sire (Exceed And Excel) with the Dam one of those (very numerous) Middle Distance German 'families' which tend to be very reliable and sound. |
