SUMMARY
GSS from SHV on Decs.

=== Pre Race ===

Cunco is the first runner for new sire Frankel. He was a notably early runner for sire Galileo who gets a large number of later 2yo & 3yo developers. Galileo's earliest 2yo winner in GB is June 13th with Gallic Star in 2009. Only a handful of June wins. For Reference = full List of Frankel 2yos from the Juddmonte Stud Website. The Website doesn't seem to link to any external resources or pictures.

=== Post Race ===

Slow time and the same time as Div I. Check whether racing Cent-Frsd an advantage.

Cunco looking a solid 'square block' type in his yearling picture and a balanced 'Frankel' shape and type. Ought to be a good/better one if had developed ok. See what the PRev notes bring but a range of pictures circulating on the Internet post-race showing Cunco a bit 'wild' (or 'spirited' depending upon your take) in the prelims.

Cunco review – Interesting to see how despite quite a lot of negative comment about how the Frankel progeny were not appearing to look that special Cunco did have some real presence. He seemed to have that power packed body shape that Frankel had. How much this was due to some facial and colouring similarities and how much to fancy will be revealed in due course.

Cunco – Green and calling, colty as well but never looking phased by it all. Smallest in height but very strongly made and in the best condition. Finished so fast and with such exuberance despite all his pre-race concerns that it is hard not to see him as special. 87

Isomer – Medium size, fit and looking ready. A bit gangly and better to come with development. 78

Oceanus – Bottom end of medium, fit but not that taking. Only a shade bigger than Cunco but less neatly made and co-ordinated. 76

Barrington – Presumably named after the trainer’s Dad. Big chap, athletic and good condition. Not looking quite fit enough to get involved here. 83

Zamadance – Top end of medium, very narrow, slightly attenuated shape that put me in mind of Good Ol Boy Lukey and a number of other tall chestnuts that I have under-estimated. .. maybe narrowness will be limiting. 77

Zebulon – Another tall and slightly dopey grey from the Hannon Yard, this one costing 68k versus the 150k for Wahash and being a little less well put together. Not fit and here for the learning experience. Improve 79

The two Hannon greys reminded me of Malachim Mist who ran in an early season maiden in 2013. Cost 40k, got slow ground and finished 8th on debut then won at Goodwood nto. Subsequently won a novice and was given a rating of 90. Eventually retired in late 2014 off 72 never having won another race. Are these two much better?
