RACE QUALITY:
|
The runners carry a weight in line with the price which the owner is willing
to let the runner to be claimed out of the race for.
The race is usually low quality requiring a performance in the 50s or occasionally
into the 60s to win. The runners usually include only later seller and
claimer winners.
2003 was unusual in that the second - Fortunately (A Berry) - won a seller
later but was claimed and developed to an 85+ rated Listed winner. That
race also saw trainer K Ryan introduce a runner who was of better standard
than normally runs in the race. She finished third.
