Pre-race Summary

BATH 20th SUMMING UP
  • The claiming allowances have brought together a close race among the better types on profile suggesting the trainers know these 2yos pretty well.
  • Slack Willy Hilly has been very disappointing in two runs and would need to show more to win here. Trainer's runners tend to have shown what they are capable of by STO unless there is an obvious excuse which he does not have.
  • Dusty Devil was a long price on debut when the trainer was in moderate form but ran reasonably well and should be competitive although interesting that the trainer's usual choice of apprentice goes to Beverley.
  • There have been hints that better was expected from Pokermilliondotcom on his previous runs. He runs for the first time for a trainer who has got good improvement from a 2yo claimed from WGM Turner before.
  • Wizard Prince and Valentine Jak are the newcomers from the trainer's who should have their 2yos most competent on debut.
  • Of the others the most likely to provide a 'surprise' at a low level could be Twentyfirst Dansar if he has 'calmed' down from what he showed on debut.
  • RACE QUALITY:
  • The race is usually of low quality and a performance in the 50s is normally enough to win. Those behind the winner usually include only later seller and claimer winners.
  • TRAINERS:
  • R Hannon won the race in 2004 with newcomer Treat Me wild.
  • WGM Turner has had two runners in the last two equivalent races. He won it in 2003 with Lady Killer and had the third and fourth in 2004.
  • SIRES:
  • First season sire Bertolini (Prettilini) has a runner.
