A moderate race in profile and a rating in the mid 60s would probably be
enough to win. Multiple has the best previous form but below that
level. She would probably need to improve from the form she's shown to
win and runs only 6 days after Haydock. She has not looked to have real
5f pace and this stiffer 5f should help her. However, she has looked more
of a 'development for nurseries' type that the trainer targets. It would
be no surprise to see one of the better newcomers being too speedy for
her.
None of the better newcomers - Tuscany Queen, Musette & Playful
- run for trainers who target stronger debuts. However, all have minor
positives for a stronger than average FTO run.

R Hannon used the 2004 race to introduce a useful filly who won
on debut and ran at Royal Ascot. He runs newcomer Pure Fiction in the first
division and Tuscany Queen here.
C. Cox (Musette) has his first 2yo runner of 2005 a month earlier
than in 2004. In 2002-3 with mostly moderate 2yos he had early season debuts
which were uncompetitive and most debuts were developmental. In 2004 with
the later debuts, and a better 2yo group, he had 5 places (including a
win by his best 2yo) from the first 6 debuts, all at longer SPs. His runner
here would count as a more expensive sales buy so interesting to see how
she performs to judge his strategy for 2005.
