MAY 27th SUMMING UP
|
|
RACE QUALITY:
|
The race was run on the AW in 2002 but switched to turf for the last two
seasons. The race has been of notably variable quality. In 2002 the later
Royal Ascot winner Luvah Girl won the AW equivalent race. In 2003 it was
a poor race and the moderate Catherine Howard on debut was able to show
notable inexperience and still pick up a poor to moderate set of fillies.
2004 had more depth and three of the fillies ran in Listed or Group races
later. The debut winner Masa and the 6th Extreme Beauty ran at Royal Ascot
NTO and in a Newmarket Group race later. Kissing Lights finished 3rd in
a Group 3 race after winning her maiden.
