APRIL 28th SUMMING UP
|
Glenmuir did not have to show 5f speed to win FTO and has an 8lb penalty
for that win. His trainer has his 2yos very forward in 2005 and has chosen
their races well. It is therefore interesting he that he runs in this non
conditions race STO. He is likely to be a strong favourite but overall
his form and profile do not support this.
Amber Glory has shown a similar level of form and is only penalised 4lb.
She probably has less scope than Glenmuir but a reasonable opponent in
this race.
The runner with the best profile to beat the previous winners is More Time.
He has obvious negatives after an inexperienced, and possibly slightly
unwilling, debut and wears blinkers for his second run. However, he has
prospects to be better than Glenmuir and receives weight. His trainer has
a good STO record.

RACE QUALITY:
|
Despite the previous Class 'F' tag (now Class '6') the race has seen the
debuts of Attraction, Hurricane Alan and Joseph Henry in the last three
years. The race has been named after Attraction this year.
However, in those three years the number and quality of the 'supporting
cast' has steadily declined with Joseph Henry opposed by a mostly mediocre
group in 2004.
This year the race is similar with a low number of runners and hard to
see a Group race winner in this field although Glenmuir and More Time have
prospects to be above average.

TRAINERS:
|
R Millman ran five 2yos by April 2nd. Four of this five won on debut
and the other won STO. The trainer has run two of the debut winners from
this group STO and both have won Conditions races. His runner here is the
only one of that initial group of five that was not entered for the 5f
Conditions race at Lingfield in mid-March. He runs here STO in a Class
6 Novice rather than a Conditions race.

No first season sire has a runner.

PADDOCK & SALES REVIEWS:
|
More Time was reviewed at sales and rated 75 with an above average
chance of being a competitive 2yo. Should be able to rate 80+ mid season.
Amber Glory was reviewed at the sales and rated 65, with heavy build
on a smallish frame. Neat and athletic and ok for a neat, early sprinter
and a well above average chance of being a competitive 2yo at her level.
Gee Four
was reviewed at Leicester on his debut and rated 65. Small (similar to
Komac who ran for the same owner in 2004) but with ok build for size. Still
slightly unfurnished and needs to tighten up but has prospects to be a
65+ sprinter.
