JUNE 3rd SUMMING UP
  • Not as competitive a race as the large field would suggest. The two runners with solid previous runs -  Global Warning & Celeritas - set a good standard and one of the newcomers would have to be useful or better to compete. Of the two Global Warning has more scope to improve from previous runs.
  • Mobsir has a good profile to be a useful sprint 2yo and his trainer has had his early 2yos more competitive than his normal level. He has good prospects of placing.
  • Dazed takes on colts on her debut. Her trainer has had one FTO winner from eight runners so far with the others unplaced. She has the pedigree to be a useful 2yo but would probably need to be superior to win this on debut.
  • RACE QUALITY:
  • A variable race with a wide spread of abilities normally in the larger fields. The better runners and later winners tend to come to the fore although a range of ratings have been required to win.
  • In 2003 the 3TO King Carnival rated over 80 to beat a tough group while in 2003 the S Suroor debutant just had to be competent to beat a group which included only one later winner (a J Gosden trained 2yo who was well beaten on his first two runs and improved markedly to win 3TO).
  • SIRES:
  • First season sires Arkadian Hero (Sunny Parkes) & Mozart (Mobsir) are represented.
