  • Note that the race is 5.2f.
  • With three of the colts already declared for other races this race looks like it will cut up to be a poor to moderate one. Unlikely to contain many subsequent winners and none rating over 70.
  • If Danjet runs here it would be hard to see which of the other runners could match her given her fitness, experience and ability. She could end up at odds-on.
  • If Danjet does not run it would be a very open race with a relative wide range of possible winners and could be a 10/1+ winner for example.

    RACE QUALITY: 
  • Note that the race has been run later in April in 2003-4 so the trainers represented and the types of field have varied.
  • The 2003 race was notable for a good collection of later winners. 2004 race was run on April 12th and a less good group with three minor winners in the first four plus a better winner with PW C-Hyam who finished third when his runners were not quite ready.
  • A similar performance to 2004 would require a run rating around 60 (after auction weight corrections) to win.

  • The changing date of the race effects the range of trainers with runners in the race. However the trainers of the first four from the good 2003 race are all represented.

    SALES AND PADDOCK REVIEWS:
  • At The Bar was reviewed at the sales and rated 62 but will not be ready to run to that level on debut.
  • Emily's Will was reviewed at the Sales and Paddock Reviewed at Lingfield. She is compact and slightly leggy but has ok size & build. She needs to develop mentally and physically from her debut run (not fit and only 9 days ago) to be able to run to the 63 rating she was given on both occasions.
  • Danjet was Paddock Reviewed at Lingfield and rated 62. She was very fit on debut and showed a good finish in that race in the context of a race of this type. Note that Danjet is the top-weighted filly on the auction weights. She has the profile to be able to reach the 60 rating expected to be needed to win this race in March.
