MAY 28th SUMMING UP
|
A difficult between the three runners with the best previous form. Carmenero
has run two better races on firmer going either side of looking to fail
to stay on soft ground. He was easily outpaced by a better runner last
time. We've probably seen what he is capable of and his trainer has a moderate
record with converting the type of promise he's shown into wins.
Of the other higher weights Art Historian & Golden Acer
probably have more potential but neither put up strong debuts. Art Historian
was backed on a York debut over 5f on soft but didn't have the pace to
cope with previous winners but at least kept on in the last furlong. He
needs to show notably improvement here.
Golden Acer's trainer has used the race for moderate to average types in
previous years. He also got outpaced before plugging on but over 6f in
a slowish race. He should show close to his best 6f form here.

RACE QUALITY:
|
A 5f race in previous years and changed to 6f today. Variable quality in
2003-4 with the 2003 race containing 7 horses rating 70+ during the season
highlighted by Overdrawn who developed into useful 7f nursery winner later
in the season.
2004 was made up of just moderate later winners and none of the group proved
to be 70+ raters.

TRAINERS:
|
A Jarvis tends to run his better 2yos, if he has them, at the course.
However, they tend to develop with racing and his only winner at the course
came in the last three years was in this race in 2003 with the 75+ rated
sprinter Latin Rview who was on her STO run. Right Again has his third
run today.

SALES REVIEWS:
|
Carmenero (Windsor) rated 69 and increased from sales because of
his notable maturity. Compactness would limit his ability to use his strength.
Haiti Dancer rated 66 but probably need 7f, not a speed set up.
Reality Time rated 63. Medium size and just over medium build. A
ready type of sprinter with moderate scope to develop.
Right Again rated 61.
Dont Dili Dali rated 59.
