MAY 6th SUMMING UP
|
A very interesting maiden and promising a number of average+ winners and
possibly one quite useful.
Aliceinwonderland comes out top on profile but there is limited
evidence as to how the trainer will approach this debut run. She also has
a non 5f pedigree although if she's useful or better she could still beat
lesser types at that distance of course.
However, she's quite likely to be favourite and may well be poor value,
especially given the niggles. A perfectly sensible approach to the race
in that case would be to look for an alternative. If she's really useful
and irons out the locals at a short SP, then fair enough.
In looking for an alternative there aren't any obviously superior types
in opposition but there are a number who look good enough to provide some
opposition if Aliceinwonderland isn't this year's 'Damson'.
Rapsgate runs for a trainer that doesn't target strong debuts but
gets above his usual percentage of FTO wins with his earlier season debuts
at this course. She is probably only a 'medium' sprinter but may be more
precocious.
Donna Giovanna is by the, deceased, sire Mozart as is Rapsgate so
we'll learn more about his 2yos here. His trainer also does not target
strong debuts but his early season runners tend to be chosen as precocious
types. The trainer's debuts for her owners tend to be above his avergae
level.
Of the others Donna Blini, and possibly Willmar, appeal as
possibles to rate 70+ in the season and should be assessed with that in
prospect.

SALES REVIEWS:
|
Rapsgate was rated 74 at the sales and with a well above average
chance of being a competitive 2yo. She was medium size and just above average
build. In proportion and a classic medium, early season, sprinter.
