  • An interesting group but not with an obvious 80+, 'development' type amongst them, unless Salute Him has unexpected speed.
  • Assuming normal competence on debut by trainer standards then Lyrical Blues and Magidene should make the first three. The other place would be Salute Him providing he's competent and can carry his weight but it would not be a huge surprise to see Red Emerald sneak a place assuming she's very fit and professional on debut.

    RACE QUALITY: 
  • The race has only had four runners in the three previous seasons and usually contains three solid winners plus a 'duff' one. The winners have usual been capable of rating 75+ in the season.
  • However, given the early date the winner has generally not had to rate 70+ to win.

    TRAINERS: 
  • M. Channon has run two 2yos in this race 2002-4 and both rated 80+ during the season.
  • R. Hannon has run two 2yos in the race which have been 50s-60s rating at best during the season.
  • J. Best has two runners and not obvious which is the first string.

    SIRES:
  • First Season Sire represented in Mull Of Kintyre and very interesting to see how Salute Him runs to further assess the sire.
  • Makbul has had two debut winners from two runners so far in 2005.

    SALES REVIEWS:
  • Magidene (71), Salute Him (68) and Lyrical Blues (68) were reviewed at the sales and all have ratings which would make them competitive in this race if they are competent on debut.
